Interest include:
I
specialize modern Asian architectural history with an emphasis on the
relationship between Japan and other Asian countries. I focus on Japanese
architecture in Japanese colonies and its impact after the 2nd World War in
each country, for example, the government-general buildings, big dams, bridges,
lighthouses, etc. I also have conducted research on modern architectural
heritage in East and Southeast Asian in several cities.
A construction is deeply connected to a kind of “dream,” which is how we design
our social environment and future. I believe the research about Asian
architectural history is synonymous to thinking about Asia’s future in the
world.
